Artwork > TRANSIENT TERRITORIES series

I am exasperated by ignorant humans, whose greedy and callous actions are destroying our land. Miraculously, nature has its unique way of replenishing itself.

Taking images from the four elements of Nature - earth, wind, fire and water, I pour, carve and scrape paint over textured canvas surfaces. The light at the horizon of each painting conveys a glimpse of hope, that after desolation comes rebirth.

The three larger paintings in the series illustrate, in sequence: an unscathed landscape (before human tampering); an apocalyptic scenario (after human contamination); and the silent waiting period (on the verge of recovery).
